The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) in partnership with the Southern Arizona Institute of Leadership (S.A.I.L.), Metropolitan Education Commission (M.E.C.), and Pima Community College are very proud to announce that we will be hosting our 23rd Annual Youth Leadership Conference themed Education is the Key to Success: "Striving for Wellness & Balance" ”. This year’s conference targets 8th through 12th grade students, and encourage them to stay in school, to set their goals and to realize that the key to success is through education. In addition, the conference is an effort to expose middle and high school students to life on a college campus. The Conference will be held at Pima Community College West Campus, 2202 W. Anklam Road on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 8:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
Promote the importance of learning as vital to all children and encourage the participation of the community in all facets of this promotion.
Offer youth in middle and high school an opportunity to improve, maintain, or better their educational opportunities while attending school.
Offer valuable resources through career, health, and public safety fairs emphasizing career options and the necessary educational requirements for those careers.
Provide youth with important prevention strategies, information and resources for academic and scholarship needs.
Provide youth with important access, information and resources for health, mental health, safety and social service needs through interactive workshops and career fairs.
Promote higher education or trade certification as important for personal and economic development.
Promote, enhance or develop individual leadership skills through the conference fairs, workshops and motivational keynote presenter.
