Career Fair and Public Safety Fair Presenters

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is in the process of planning its 20 th Annual Youth Leadership Conference and Career Fair. For the past 19 years, LULAC has made the prevention of dropouts as a high priority for all volunteer efforts in Arizona . This year's conference theme, " The Key to Success Is Through Education: Wise Decisions Pave the Way!" targets students, 6 th through 12 th grade, and encourages them to stay in school, to set their goals and to realize that the key to success is through education. In addition, the conference is an effort to expose middle and high school students to life on a college campus. The Conference and Career Fair and Public Safety Fair will be held at Pima Community College West Campus, 2202 W. Anklam Road on Monday, March 16 th , 2008 and Tuesday, March 17 th , 2008 from 8:00A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

The Career Fair and Public Safety Fair are unique components of the leadership conference and is developed through community input that the LULAC Youth Leadership Conference Planning Committee has utilized to outline this year's occupational and public safety categories to be represented at the Fairs. Many of the youth attending the conference are preparing for the future and your experience and knowledge will be invaluable in assisting them with their educational preparation for the world of work.

Your responsibilities would include: speaking informally with students about your occupation; educational background; salary range, and the viability of future career opportunities in Tucson and Pima County . Most important you will have the opportunity to stress to the students the importance of graduating from high school and how higher education, can only lead to greater success.

Your organization may begin to set-up as early as 7 A.M.
