As in past conference years, the Metropolitan Education Commission’s (MEC)
Youth Advisory Council/Tucson Teen Congress (YAC/TTC) will develop the Career
Fair which is a unique component of the leadership conference. Through community
input the YAC/TTC has outlined this year’s occupational categories to be
represented at the Fair. Many of the youth attending the conference are
preparing for the future and your experience and knowledge will be invaluable in
assisting them with their educational preparation for the world of work.
Your responsibilities would include: speaking informally with students about
your occupation; educational background; salary range, and the viability of
future career opportunities in Tucson and Pima County. Most important you will
have the opportunity to stress to the students the importance of graduating from
high school and how higher education, can only lead to greater success.
Your organization may begin to
set-up as early as 7 A.M. Contact person for the Career Fair is Fran Embrey
Senechal. She can be contacted at the Metropolitan Education Commission
office, (520)670-0055, Fax: (520)670-1110.
